The Lies of the Left

Education is the cure for what ails our country. The lack of educated people is the cause of our division and current anarchy. Education in public institutions is not the type I’m talking about, although public institutions could do much to better educate our populace. What we’ve really lost is a free press whose mission started as a means to educate the citizens of this country with facts and information. Only an educated citizenry can govern themselves. Without unbiased facts and information, citizens cannot make sound decisions at the community, state, and national level. Ignorant citizens vote poorly, support self-destructive policies, and enable political corruption. In a word, they make decisions against their own self-interests, and as a result the country declines.

We find ourselves in phase of division that could ultimately lead to civil war, if the lies of the left are left unchecked. Our founders knew that checks and balances were the key to a healthy Constitutional Republic, which is why they organized our government into three distinct branches that could hold each other accountable. The concern was that corruption could take hold if there were no checks to it, a lesson learned from some ancient civilizations. While our branches of government are still functioning to some degree, there are two other corruption checks that are utterly failing–the people and the press. Ultimately, the people are the final check. Their votes can correct a corrupt course and redirect it back to our founding principles. For the people to be a check to corruption, they must be educated and in possession of the truth. Truth used to come from America’s free press. The free press is more important than other checks because the people look to the press for the truth about issues. Without an honest press, the people make decisions based on lies and misinformation. History shows that if the press reports in a fair and balanced way, providing only unbiased facts and demonstrable truths, the majority of people will agree on an issue or at least understand why others see things differently. If the press takes a side and becomes a propaganda arm for one party or political ideology, the people become misguided, ignorant, emotional, and easily manipulated by corrupt leaders. As goes the press, so goes the country.

This is why is it imperative that all of us stop ignoring the lies of the left being perpetrated by our “free” press. The free press isn’t operating as a bastion of truth and information anymore. It will take the citizens who are seeing the lies to step up and debate those who are believing the lies, if we are to save our nation. We are seeing a shift toward this happening, but we have a long way to go. Many have become content to bury their heads in the sand to avoid confrontation with friends and family. Others simply join echo chambers and avoid debating those who are purveying the lies and manipulative information. We must understand that President Trump and his administration need our help. The president’s fearlessness in calling out lies and corruption has emboldened citizens to start speaking up, as well. On any given issue, we are seeing a surge of conservative comments whereas we used to only see leftist views represented. This is, in part, thanks to Elon Musk for buying Twitter and removing the “shadow banning” suppression of conservative thought that Twitter was famous for. We need more than that, however. In a time when our press is complicit in the lies of the left, we need citizen journalists to research, report, and document the truth on issues. For example, Nick Shirley, a young, amateur vlogger almost single-handedly exposed massive fraud in Minnesota, pulling the curtain back from the corrupt policies of Tim Walz. The mainstream media could have easily done the same thing if they had an interest in the truth, but they don’t because they have taken a side, and that side isn’t the side of truth.

Every person in this country who believes in truth, fairness, justice and morality will have to step up in the next year to confront lies and misinformation in their own circles and communities. Education, at a basic level, is sharing knowledge and provable facts with those who lack them. It is not being afraid to challenge lies and false premises being spread by the gullible and ignorant, who have been manipulated by liars and corrupt people in our country. All of the ignorant will not be educated, as they don’t all have the desire to know the truth and are content to live in delusion. However, many can be reached, and the momentum can shift as minds are won over with education on the issues our country is facing. If there is one thing individual citizens can do, it is to inform themselves and confront those around them who are spreading lies and misinformation, whether it be coworkers, neighbors, representatives, or news media. Rather than reach the point of civil war with weapons, we can try to prevent it by winning over minds with truth and facts.

Americans have to clear their minds of the confusion that has been sown by the left. We must not believe the lies of those who tell us gender is a choice rather than a biological fact. We must not believe the lies of those who tell us a baby in the womb is not a living human being deserving of the right to life. We must not believe the lies of people who tell us men should be in women’s bathrooms and should be allowed to compete in women’s sports. We must not believe the lies of those who say marriage is whatever they define it as, when Biblically and historically, healthy societies are those comprised of marriages entered into by one man and one woman. We should not believe the lies that ICE agents enforcing immigration law are gestapo and fascists. Immigration bills were lawfully passed into law by our duly elected representatives years ago and have been on the books for decades. Enforcing law is part of living in a country that lives by rule of law. Uneducated people can be manipulated into holding views and opinions that are ignorant of fact because they don’t know better. They believe what they are fed and never seem to question it. That is why it is imperative that the rest of us confront them and lay the facts bare for them. Some will be reasonable enough to consider the facts, though not all. Some will beat the drum for their manipulators no matter what, because that’s what ignorant people do. We must try to reach the reasonable minds.

When people like Mamdani try to sell socialism, we must show the ignorant the facts about the results of socialism historically. When leftists call Renee Good’s shooting murder, we must hold up to them the shooting of Ashli Babbitt who actually did not physically threaten anyone but merely climbed through a broken window in the capitol making her a trespasser. They can’t call one a murder and the other one a justified shooting because by their own definition both would be murders. In reality, both were consequences of two women breaking the law. We cannot break the law in a country with rule of law and not expect consequences, sometimes very serious ones. When leftists try to say people are being disappeared instead of apprehended for immigration violations, we must call them out. When they laugh about Charlie Kirk’s death and say his children are better off without him but protest and mourn for Renee Good and her child, we must call out the hypocrisy. We also have to be quick to identify and counter false accusations made by the left and spread through the media. They have no qualms about smearing and bearing false witness in order to influence the emotions of others and win them over to their side.

The left has become a force for lies and misrepresentation. This has become their strategy, some knowingly and some acting as useful idiots. They have no shame about it anymore. With every new issue that arises, the strategy has become to lie and misrepresent the facts. They believe that if they can keep convincing the easily manipulated folks on their side to promote the lies and protest, ever more violently, the rest of us will cower and retreat to a state of silence and intimidation. We have to admit many of us were intimidated and retreated during the Obama presidency when social media and the news media were weaponized against us. Many people even started to doubt themselves when it “felt” like the majority opinion was what we saw on the news or on Twitter, when in reality, it was a psychological fake out. Many of us still have friends who stay quiet or live on the fence because they are afraid they will be ostracized for not going along with the lies of the left. Somewhere inside them, they still believe the media can’t be wrong, or that their friends and neighbors must know more than they do. This social hostage taking has been extremely successful for the left–until now. President Trump’s bravery and willingness to vehemently call out the lies has given good people across this country the guts to follow in kind. We must. The lies of the left are destroying this nation and if we don’t start exposing the liars and presenting the facts to our friends, family, coworkers, neighbors, representatives and news media, we will eventually fall. We will become unrecognizable as a nation who once fought for freedom, truth and justice. We will settle into anarchy, loss of rights, and the inability to act as a check on the liars and the corrupt. Liberty will die where it once began and the thought of that should motivate everyone who reads this. Your life and the lives of your children and grandchildren will be altered forever.

There are three prongs to righting this nation:

  1. News Media-we must seek fair and balanced media. We must try to encourage those with financial means to create new sources of mainstream media to replace the corrupt ones. We must encourage citizen journalism to flourish as it did with Nick Shirley. We have the ability to record, research, and report to the world as never before through social media.
  2. Representatives-We must hold our representatives accountable for their lies and backing of corruption. The folks in blue states have got to be convinced to vote better and in their own self-interests instead of against them. They live in a constant state of “they know not what they do.” We must help them see that their leaders are using and abusing them. The fraud in Minnesota was devastating to the citizens living there. The corrupt government leaders prioritized foreigners, many illegal, over their own legal, natural born citizens. We have similar things happening in blue cities located within red states. All of us who see what is happening must confront it and speak out against it with truths, facts, and information.
  3. Our Circles of Influence-We must speak up in our own circles and debate others when they are spreading or supporting lies and misinformation. It is not easy. Many of us got a taste of it when we tried to debate our own circles during Covid. We saw actual fascism flourishing during Covid when our rights were limited and we were intimidated into compliance with mandates that made no sense. The public was bullied to stay inside, to not see dying relatives in hospitals, and to take an unproven and potentially dangerous vaccine. Always remember how it was done: the government handed down mandates, the medical field used the media to bully the people into compliance, and our own circles were manipulated to turn on any of us who refused to comply. We see the same strategies being employed by the left in the government to try and bully conservatives into turning on our own leaders, party, and friends. If you know the strategy, you can combat it.

In the end, confronting misinformation from left‑leaning politicians and media outlets is a civic responsibility. A healthy democracy depends on citizens who question narratives, verify claims, and refuse to accept convenient distortions as truth. By challenging these narratives openly and persistently, we reaffirm the value of honest debate and the importance of accountability—no matter who holds power. The path forward demands vigilance, courage, and a commitment to intellectual integrity, because the strength of a society is measured not by how loudly its institutions speak, but by how fearlessly its people seek the truth.
